JAWS Vs ORCA

JAWS Vs ORCA

Lets discuss how Orca fares as compared to the most popularly used JAWS (Screen Reader for Windows). What features are there in JAWS which are not there in Orca and vice-versa. What are the efforts being put to localize ORCA in Indian languages etc

How can we proceed now?

Shall we start with Orca for Indian languages support? If yes what should be the way to start with?

Or shall we go with how C-DAC ,Kolkata is doing for Bengali.Speech Recognition?

Or I have gone through some sites where browsers can be given accessibility like movement of the head or eyes and nose create some impact ont he page?

since there are many teams working on text to speech for indian languages ..
it may be worth investing time in evaluating each utility .. documenting the pros/cons

i have used one program (from one IIIT ?) under winVista .. works extremely well

the noble hariramji, (my gateway into the BharatOSS world, at LLC2008) explained
to me about txt2voice engines .. that they work on syllableRecognitionFunda .. and
that they could work better and be smaller if they are on PhonemeRecognitionBasis

i believe it means that the word is analysed for each phoneme .. moolVyanjan ..
and a full svar which is added to modify the sound .. that would mean 25+8 sounds
from ka to ha .. and 10 vowels from a to au .. thus the program could be tight, small,
bulletProof

to add to hariramji's idea .. there are 4 new vowels absorbed by the hindi language ..

ऍ ऎ ऑ ऒ
what i am saying, pls refer to the .jpg of the hindiLayout uploaded on other
forums/topics/subTopics .. they appear on the topmost 3 keys on the left, on z and Z,
and on the backSlash-VerticalBar keys

these 4 are also needed to pronouce 'englishWords' ..

bet बॅट
bat ॆट
bot बॉटt बॊट

बेट.. not be
बोट t .. not bot nor bought

so uating the txt2speech utilities,
this b?t needs to be verified for accuracy of sound

बैट बौट don't have english equivalents

बालin not the ball in english languageds 'funny' to nexGen .. and to presentGen too !

बाल को मारा .. बल्ले बल्ले .. hair was beaten .. yayy yayy ?

gl mix
g enlish accurately will make hindi appear
as 'intelligent' as it really is ..
instead of making hindi speaking guys
look like a देहाती 'trying' to talk अङ्ग्रेजी
