Postby naveen_nambiar on Tue Mar 17, 2009 2:04 pm

Hi Prema,
Is it possible that I download the codecs from any server and then later on I install it on my system. Actually i had'nt an internet at my room. Can I do it from a cafe then load it into the pen drive then manually install the various proprietary Audio and Video codecs on my BOSS syste,. I have got BOSS 1.1

you can very well do like that..but the problem is., say if youa re trying to install "gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg" plugins., this in turn will depend on few other packages which will get install by default if you do it in BOSS partition..If you are downloading in some other server and taking it in a USB then you should be aware of all the required dependencies.,
and as for as i know for BOSS 3.0 Tejas version it is enough to download

"gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly liba52-0.7.4_0.7.4-4 libdvdread3_0.9.7-1 libid3tag0_0.15.1b-8 libmad0_0.15.1b-2.1 libmms0_0.3-1 libmpcdec3_1.2.2-1 libmpeg2-4_0.4.0b-4 libsidplay1_1.36.59-4 libwavpack0_4.32-2 freepats libcdaudio1 libdc1394-22 libfftw3-3 libmms0 libofa0 libopenspc0 libsndfile1 libsoundtouch1c2 libwildmidi0"

may be for BOSS 1.1 you have to search for lower versions of these plugins..
