It has been always a headache to export and import mails between Windows and Linux environment..but "readpst" tool simplifies the whole commandline process and it takes hardly 10 mins to do the migration..
First backup all the needed mails,addressbook, calendar events, etc..from Outlook ..So you have a simgle ".pst" file which contains all the backup..Now boot into BOSS and in the terminal do

apt-get install readpst
this installs the readpst tool which is basically for convetring your pst formats to mbox (mozilla readable) format..give

readpst -o <destination_folder> -r <pst file name>
make sure that the destination folder already exists when you execute this command and -r will create the proper subdirectiories..the above command creates mbox files under seperate folders.
Now downlaod ImportExport addon for Icedove from http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html (or downlaod the attachment ) and install that in your Icedove (Tools --> Add-ons) ..Once the xpi is added restart Icedove to get a new entry "ImportExport" under "Tools"..
Now simply export your mbox files and get back all your mails,addressbook., under BOSS..
